The Echo® mobile trailer brake controller is truly a brake control for the modern age. It plugs into your vehicle and wirelessly connects to your smartphone, allowing you to control and monitor all trailer brake activity right from your own device. It comes with a customizable app for Apple or Android phones, a portable design to easily switch between vehicle-trailer combinations and a durable, weather-resistant construction.
Most things in this day and age can be accessed or controlled from a smartphone. With the Echo®, that includes your trailer brakes. Echo® is powered by a Bluetooth enabled system that connects right to your smartphone. Your phone becomes the brake control monitoring unit in the cab of your vehicle. There is no need for extra modules, controls, buttons or knobs.
The Echo® mobile trailer brake controller has one of the easiest installations in the industry. It simply plugs into the standard 7-way RV blade socket at the rear of your vehicle and provides a socket to plug in the trailer harness. It Ts into the connection, going between the vehicle and trailer plugs, and it is completely non-invasive. It also features automatic calibration to help eliminate setup requirements.
The Echo® trailer brake controller comes with a custom-designed app that can be downloaded for iOS or Android OS phones. With this app, the wireless brake control is able to connect to your smartphone and display brake control settings and activity. It also sends you status updates and allows you to receive incoming calls while the app is running. Note: If Bluetooth connection is lost, the brake controller will continue to function safely, using the most recently programmed settings.
With its compact design and simple, plug-and-play installation, the Echo® is extremely portable. You can easily transfer it between vehicles and use it with multiple trailers, as long as the vehicle and trailer have a 7-way RV blade connector. The Echo® Smart Control app allows you to store multiple vehicle-trailer profiles, making ideal for commercial fleets.
Because the Echo® mobile trailer brake controller is made to be outside the vehicle, we engineered it for maximum weather resistance. It is constructed with a potted enclosure, meaning the inside of the unit is filled with an epoxy resin that seals off the internal components from moisture and the elements. This ensures long-lasting operation in spite of rain, snow, dirt, mud and more. The Echo® also has a retention strap and locking tab for connecting to the 7-way RV blade vehicle socket. The strap and tab help maintain a strong connection, keeping the unit firmly installed.
The Echo® mobile brake controller operates using a triple-axis motion-sensing accelerometer -- an integrated circuit that produces smooth, safe stops every time. It is compatible with two to four trailer brakes (one to two axles) and can be used with low-voltage or PWM wiring systems. Echo® is also compatible with cruise control and ABS brakes and has built-in reverse-polarity protection and short-circuit protection. It is backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

The controller works flawlessly on our '09 Honda Pilot, towing an E-Pro 19 ft. travel trailer. Only issue is the nub fell out of the band to hold it to the connector on the Pilot. Solid product.

I needed a brake controller quickly for my gooseneck trailer, this system required no extra wiring. It connected flawlessly to my phone via Bluetooth where I was able to quickly set up a profile and use the device. With the ability to have up to six profiles, I keep this controller in my truck and can pull various trailers with the necessary profiles that I program. If for some reason it loses connectivity with my phone, it continues using the settings of the profile I was using when 1st connected.

The "installation" and setup couldn't be easier as long as you have some technical ability. I personally use a second mobile phone as my controller when I'm on the road. The reason it lost a star is because the unit is too long and hangs off the back of my bumper like log. Surely the tech could be down-sized?

I use an old samsung S7 for the controller, the app is very user intuitive, I made 3 adjustments while braking and was happy with the results. When you want to travel just plug it in, fire up the app and you're done. I also made a mountain profile with more aggressive braking for those trips.

When connected to my VW Touareg the added length of the device puts the plug to the trailer well below the receiver and at risk of hitting the ground. I've had to add an extension cable to relocate and mount the Echo on the trailer.
I suggest that Curt come up with designs that instead of the male plug has wire terminals to be connected to the cable and one that includs an angle in the body to raise the outlet plug. -
When we first got this working, it was great. We then had an issue that Mike from customer service was able to answer. One of my trailer lights was failing, which caused the controller to apply the brakes. We replaced the bulb, and did another 1,000 miles with no issues.

So easy to install you think you have done something wrong,
08 Lexus RX400H -
does everything it says it will do. Very impressed

I purchased this to use with my new Hyundai Palisade, and was thrilled that no inside cabin wiring was needed. The unit operates smoothly and controls my 4000 lb travel trailer brakes perfectly.

Let me start with the crazy part, I go to the parts store and I buy this product. I get home, hooked up the trailer and plugged it in. Tried to get it to sync with my phone and I could not get it to sync to save my life. I go to the fuse box thinking it has to be a fuse. Nope, not the fuse. I got out the multi meter and tested the pins inside the connector, all good. It has 12V just like it should. Well I started to think that I bought a piece of junk. I take it back to the store to exchange it, same exact thing happens. I am like what in the heck is happening. OK so I go 35 miles to the last store in our area to get yet another one. The lady at the counter tells me "I know why that didn't work for ya". I said well please enlighten me. She said that the one that I was sold was the "store display" one. LOL OMG you just gotta laugh at this stuff!! Not one but two stores gave me their display models. Before you leave the store look at the unit and on it you will find a bar code and a serial number. I use the product regularly and absolutely love it!! Awesome product and it was very simple to get up and going. Hope this helps. Happy trails.
