Works well. Use on 40ft RV. Bluetooth does not stay connected when in driver’s seat. Would be nice to improve distance for the Bluetooth connection.

Had the Echo wireless controller for 4 years. Had no issued with it whatsover. Setup was easy and it fits well into the 7 pin receptable on the back of the SUV. Once it snaps in, we duct tape wrapping the tape to ensure the potential of the controller disloding is minimized. About the only challenge I see with controller is that could be a target for theft as it is easy to disconnect and walk away with if the towed vehicle is left unattended. This has nothing to do with the product which has worked well for us.

Once you have this hooked up, it really works perfect. it's the hooking up part that keeps it from getting 5 stars. The band provided (the design in general) is flawed. The small little nipple you are supposed to secure the devise, is attached to the strap itself and not the actual devise. How is this possible? Even worse, the nipple can fall out of the strap, thus making the connection....not a connection at all. I used this yesterday for the first time on our new camper and did not feel it would stay on, we used some duct tape until we got to a tractor supply store and purchased som nylon zip ties. We will use those instead of the provided strap. Other than that, the set up is super easy and the breaking really works great, plenty of flexibility for sure.

Plug and play as they say, this is the way! Will buy again if needed I plan to take it with me to my next vehicle, try that with a hard wired one.

The controller is great, but the weak point is the rubber strap that locks it to the 7-pin. After 5 short trips the plastic pin broke and there is worry that it will fall off. It would be much better, easier, and more reliable to provide velcro straps.

This is a fantastic product which seems to work seamlessly with the app.

The only thing that would be nice would be if there was a visual indication of when the brakes are being applied and how strongly -just like when you perform a manual override and the blue ring indicates the braking action.

Everyone was skeptical when I asked about using this new wireless controller. I simply had no room in my cab for the traditional controller nor the time to seek a substitute location. So I purchased the ECHO MOBILE TRAILER BRAKE CONTROLLER, 7-WAY, BLUETOOTH SMARTPHONE CONNECTION #51180, drove 500 miles to pick up my new trailer, a Micro Mini Winnie 2018DS, and plugged it in. Well I can tell you that this unit worked flawlessly! Even going down the “Grapevine” on I 5 in CA it assisted in maintaining a comfortable speed. With several pre-programmed settings it’s easy to pick the right one and change when circumstances require more or less braking. Don’t worry about loosing the Bluetooth connection as your brakes will still work just fine. I made sure the coupling was secure with duct tape and had no issues. I am really happy and recommend you investigate this new “contraption”!

This works great but I am not confident I am not going to loose it. The button on the rubber strap has already disappeared. Other than that its been ok.

Great device easy to use and setup. The only complaint is there needs to be a better way to secure or keep it attached to the vehicle receptacle. I traveled 1450 miles and it worked great. When I stopped for gas after a few hours of driving I noticed it was gone while I was looking around the trailer and checking my load. I know the times I stopped before it was in place and working fine. The rubber strap to help keep it secure is to me not the best. I think there should be a better way and more secure way to hold it in place. I am not sure I will replace it with another ECHO controller. That’s a lot of money hanging out there by a rubber strap.
